The Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance started off as an advocacy group, defending the right to use mountain bike in Bowmont Park and Nose Hill.
However, now they concentrate more on trail building and riding! They also sell maps and guides to the most popular singletracks trails in the area.
Spin Sisters Mountain Bike Club
Spin Sisters is a women’s only mountain biking club that aims to bring women together and foster a positive atmosphere .
They organize rides, maintenance workshops, races and they also get involved in community initiatives.
This is a meetup.com group for people of all ages and skill levels who are into mountain biking and want to meet and ride with others that share their interest.
The Calgary Mountain Bikers is a really active group and it’s a great way to meet new people.
Calgary Outdoor Club is not just about biking. As the name suggests it’s a club for lovers of all outdoor activities including hiking, camping, biking, skating and all sorts of winter sports.
They organize events in the Calgary area and beyond and there’s something for everyone, from very beginners to much more experienced outdoors people!
Road cycling clubs
Calgary Crackmasters Cycling club is a club for both road and track racers. They hold training and social rides throughout the week. And they also organize serious races.
Membership is open to all ages and skill levels and if you don’t want to get involved in the racing that’s fine. They’re also involved in promoting cycling in the community.
Born a long time ago (1995!), Deadgoar Racing are into all sorts of biking including racing, mountain, cyclocross, single speed and commuting.
They have an informal riding club for people of all levels which explores the areas around Calgary and further. And they also have a racing team for higher levels of competition.
BMX clubs
Calgary BMX Racing has been going for more than 30 years and is dedicated to promoting BMX racing and riding for everyone.
They organize race nights, coaching and even have a shed full of bikes and equipment so they can lend you everything you need if you don’t already have it!
